K&M Telephone Company is notifying its customers of an increase in surcharge
rates.
FUSC – on January 1, 2024 the FEDERAL UNIVERSAL SERVICE
CHARGE or FUSC surcharge will increase from 34.5% to 34.6%. The FUSC
is calculated in accordance with Federal Communications Commission rules
by applying the surcharge contribution factor to charges for interstate services.
The Federal Universal Service Fund program supports affordable telecommunication
services to rural customers as well as schools, libraries, health care providers,
and low-income customers.
