1. NTAP or Nebraska
Telephone Assistance Program and Lifeline Discounts
You may be eligible for up to a $12.75 discount on your telephone/internet bill if you
are receiving support from the following programs. Medicaid,
Kids Connection (SAM, MAC, EMAC), Supplemental Security Income
(SSI), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP), Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), National School Lunch Program
Free Lunch Program, Federal Public Housing or
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). You may also qualify
if your income is at or below 135% of the poverty level. To apply, complete a
Lifeline Application Form online
OR mail a paper form
to the address indicated on the hard copy. Then, complete and mail the State of Nebraska Attestation Form to the Nebraska Public Service Commission or email psc.ntap@nebraska.gov with the attestation form as an attachment.
Note that only one benefit is available per household for landline, broadband,
or wireless services. The discount is a government program and consumers
who willfully make false statements can be punished by fines, prison, and/or
be barred from the program.
2. Unwanted Marketing Calls
The National Do Not Call Registry provides a place for you to add your telephone
number to the Do Not Call data base.
to the information and registration web site. You may also call 1-888-382-1222
to be added to the list. In addition, if you are receiving marketing
calls that you wish would stop, tell the caller to place you on their "Do
Not Call" list. Don't be afraid to interrupt the caller and tell them
what you want, and don't be afraid to hang up.
Click here to see more information on marketing
and survey calls.
3. Telephone Bills
Telephone bills are mailed so that you should receive them on the first
of each month. The bill is due when you receive it and is considered
delinquent if it is not paid by the 10th of the month. If we have
not received payment by the 20th of the month, we will require prompt payment
the next month. So during the next month, if the entire bill is not
paid by the 10th, we will send out a disconnect notice and disconnect your
telephone service if full payment is not received.
You are billed in advance for telephone service. Any bill for toll
is after the calls are made. New service and disconnected service
customers pay only for the days they use the service. Contact the
business office if you have any questions.
4. Security Deposit
We will check the credit worthiness of all new customers. We will
use this information in deciding if a deposit will be required. If
a customer using our service does not have a deposit, but has difficulty
paying their telephone bill, we may require a deposit for their account.
Deposits earn interest, and may be refunded after a period of satisfactory bill payments.
